Lorraine Brown has always felt a connection with the art of watercolour. The mediums ability to create unique and unexpected results, its risk and surprise, were special and attractive qualities to the artist; who found risk and surprise at every turn in her creative and professional life.
Her creative works come from a desire to tell stories and capture the essence of a subject.
"I enjoy playing and finding something special, taking risks with watercolour and going anywhere my imagination takes me".
Lorraine often explores other water media including ink, soluble graphite, acrylic and collage, all enriching the artistic journey. Her works are “expressive impressions,” a blend of realism and abstraction.
Lorraine tutors watercolour painting both in weekly classes and workshops throughout Adelaide and shares her painting process on her YouTube channel.
Her paintings are held in private and corporate collections across Australia and overseas.
