Wildflowers of the Red Earth

A colourful watercolour that captures an ancient outback landscape transformed by rain into a vibrant carpet of spring wildflowers against the Ancient Peaks of the Flinders Ranges.
The background rises with weathered purple-brown ridges, painted with soft wet-in-wet washes that mimic distant atmospheric haze. The mid ground bursts to life with loose, expressive dabs of yellow, purple, pink and greens and the Sturt’s Desert Pea provide brilliant reds in the foreground.

Work is unframed size on 100% cotton rag paper using finest grade artist pigment ready for your own choice under glass. Final size is determined by the addition of your chosen matboard and frame
