Some will enjoy the freedom of working without a "real subject" using lovely juicy washes, texture and shapes but for some not having the safety net of subject matter is daunting.
Creating Abstract in purely watercolour is a slow process of building on washes with glazes, texture and more mark making until you feel you are happy and can call it done.
I have simplified a starting process that once you get going can easily be abandoned or added to using simple lines and then working with intuition and colour choices. Sometimes it takes only hours to be happy with your result but often it may take several sessions to resolve to a finished work.
Here are the instructions.
Give it a try for yourself. It's a wonderful chance to just play!
